The saxophonist Helga Plankensteiner has been one of the defining voices of the northern Italian jazz scene for many years. With her ensemble Plankton, she presents music brimming with energy, humor, and sonic diversity—vibrant, multifaceted, and captivating. Blending jazz, groove, and surprising tonal nuances, Plankton combines compositional sophistication with the energy of a tight-knit band: at times ironic and lighthearted, at times intense and captivating.
